Today: ~2,300 words. I'm almost a full day's worth of words ahead of the curve. I found it much, much easier to write today than it has been the past few days. While I spent 3-4 hours on the first few days, today was about 90 minutes of furious writing.

It helps that I had an idea of exactly what was going to be happening next. Also, I put on music on my headphones, cranked the volume, and went to town. Didn't check email, AIM, IRC, or anything for the duration of the typing. (Well, halfway through I came up for air and checked on things.)

In non-NaNo news, today I spent a few hours at the local Games Workshop working on my Tau. I've got the three stealth suits looking pretty nice! Of course, there's only three of them (little things!) and I've put maybe 8 hours in total on them. While that's not a lot to some people who do this sort of thing, it feels like a lot to me.

Now I will spend the next two or three hours doing more working on Dreamwidth. Like you had to ask.

What else...

I suppose that's it until tomorrow.

Day 3 came and went. I did 1,406 words. This is less than you're supposed to do in a day, but I have a little word buffer. I'm up to 5,426 words total. A little ahead of the curve, but not that much so. Need to keep writing!

My plot is doing some really terrible twisty things, though. I had written out a lot of what I expected the story to do in October, but once I actually sat down to write things aren't coming out quite the way I expected. Actually, quite different.

Oh well. It's an interesting process so far. 10%!

Okay, I'm done writing for today. 4,020 words. That's good, I'm happy with it, etc. More tomorrow!

I'm going to go post the first chapter... well, I think it needs a lot of editing, but in the name of NaNo, right? heh. I hate not going back and editing yet. And letting people read it. I usually do a lot of editing on my work. Ah well!

2,351 words.

I've already found some things that are annoying with what I chose for my main character and his role in the story. I'm pondering now what to do about it, if anything.

Anyway, good progress today. I'm going to try to build up a word buffer because I inevitably have busy days or days that I just need to focus on Dreamwidth or something.

I will post the text when I finish each chapter, I think. Those of you who wanted to see it will be on the filter, keep an eye out in a day or two. I know how far I want this chapter to go, I'm probably halfway there or a little more.

NaNoWriMo 2009 has begun.

I don't have any words yet, because I was out late last night for Halloween and now that I'm awake I'm about to head out to the third class in the Games Workshop Academy class I'm part of. I should be able to get some writing done this afternoon/evening, though!

I do have a plot, or at least, the beginnings of one. Lots of backstory, some character development, a small timeline, and some other details that I will be using. I'm not completely unprepared!

I'm really not certain exactly how the mechanics of this will work, too. If I write in Scrivener it's hard to paste it onto DW -- it smushes the paragraphs together so I have to go back and edit every paragraph to get it to post right. Oh well, I suppose that's life.

Word count: 0 / 50,000.
