And in my grand old tradition of not calling my mom very often and instead resorting to posting to my journal hoping she reads it:

I booked a flight for us to come out for Christmas. We'll be landing in Fargo sometime around 4:30 PM on Sunday, the 20th of December. We fly back around 5:30 PM on Monday, the 28th. We'll rent a car in Fargo and keep it for the week, I expect that's the best way to handle transportation.

Woo! Christmas in North Dakota! I'm going to hope for snow this time.

Today was pretty exciting, I have to say.

I decided sometime this morning that I wanted to get rid of the ridiculous pile of cardboard we had accumulated in the garage. Cue me spending a few hours renting a U-Haul truck, loading up half a truck of cardboard and Styrofoam (and one old office chair), and heading over to the "transfer station" (waste processing facility).

Of course, the directions I received at the facility were abysmal and I took my truck into a no-no area and badly inconvenienced some large machinery driver who wanted my spot. Oops. I got out of his way and managed to figure out where I was supposed to go, whereupon I successfully divested myself of much recyclables (and non-recyclables). Huzzah.

The truck returned, I got a Slurpee in celebration.

Then I spent the last hour or two before Janine got home catching up on Dreamwidth stuff and looking at patches. I didn't actually commit anything as I couldn't decide if I wanted to do it right before a code push or not. Then a few hours that included dinner, some very interesting conversations with Janine, and a successful code push.

That brings us up to the present.

Also, I have switched my journal style, and I'm really digging this one. I think it's one of the new ones that just went out. Really, really cool.

I remember when Dreamwidth had no styles. Then it had one, two, three. And it had those three for a while. Now, suddenly, we have so many styles. Dozens. We're at the point where we seriously have to consider how to organize them so that we don't overload people with page after page after page of things that they just have to wade through. Very cool.

Now back to doing some code!
